A Good Plan Is The Most Important Piece To The Puzzle
67Life starts out as a puzzle and it's up to every one of us to put those pieced into place. How we go about arranging those pieces and making them fit has a direct effect on how successful we are in life.
Some of us rush through that process trying to make pieces fit, some us meticulously set pieces aside that are shaped the same, or have the same color. We take the time to plan out or strategy. Whatever strategy you use is your choice. You need to do what works for you.
The Ones That Rush Through The Process
Tim dumps out his puzzle on the floor a starts to haphazardly fumble for the pieces on the floor. No rhyme or reason. No segregation of like shaped pieces or same color pieces.
As he sits there for the next few hours, he grabs pieces of the puzzle at random trying to make them fit. Sure after a couple of lucky grabs he gets two or three matching pieces of the puzzle that fit. But as time goes on Tim just gets more and more frustrated. He is at the point that he just wants to say the hell with it and give up.
Frustration of not being able to do something because you didn't take the time to plan can ruin any good idea in it's tracks before it has time to be nurtured and given time to grow. When you have a good foundation to any task, you've already put yourself in a better position to make that task come alive and give it a chance to grow.
The Ones That Take The Time To Plan
Eddy does the same as Tim Doe's. He dumps his puzzle on the floor, but takes the time to make sure all the pices of the puzzle are facing up. He seperates all the colors and even segregates them into the same hue. Eddy figures the same color pieces are going to fit in the same general vicinity on the puzzle.
With a little planning, deductive reasoning, and some forethought, Eddy has already given himself a better chance then Tim did to succed.
At this point Eddy has worked on his puzzle about the same length of time Tim did. But Eddy's puzzle is half way completed. Again, Eddy took the time to formulate a strategy. A plan.
Can The Strategy Of The Puzzle Work In Real Life?
I give you a resounding YES! In fact if you go through life without a plan I'd say your more likely to fail than succed. If you meander through life, you'll do ok. If ok is good enough for you. If you take the time to plan. There's no limits that can constrain you. My friends, why would you leave your most precious recourse to chance. Resource meaning you. Don't leave your path in life to chance. Work at it every day. Refine that plan when needed to give yourself a better chance to succeed.
When work demands that you tackle a tedious project, or, you have a writing project in mind, get the pen and paper out and make your list or outline. You must have your plan on paper or it's not a solid plan. It needs to be looked at every day to monitor it's progress. In some instances you'll need to revise your plan when a new action needs to be taken. Your not going to know what actions to take by only committing your plan to memory alone. Your going to miss something. Something important.
If your working on a writing project, you need to outline what the project is about. Is it a short story, a novel, or an article? How are you going to know how to base your characters, or do your research without some kind of written plan? How do you know what the timeline is going to be?
Children and the lazy meander through life. You are a professional and highly determined individual. Have your plan written down. Review it daily or weekly depending on your circumstance, make your adjustments and be the best at what you do.
